We are excited to announce that design duo Carnovsky have been awarded best wallpaper for their La Selva print created for the Exhibition at our very own DreamBagsJaguarShoes. Congratulations to Francesco and Silvia!
As the Oscars are to cinema, or the Nobel Peace Prize to peace, so the Wallpaper* Design Awards are to, well, almost everything else. Huge in ambition, vast in scope, the Wallpaper* annual anointment of the absolute best requires judges with a supernatural sense of what’s right and right for right now. This year’s Olympian panel featured:
Grayson Perry – Our favourite cross-dressing ceramicist is currently the headline act at the British Museum
Rafael Vinoly – The Uruguayan-born, New York-based architect has seven offices on three continents but his work has global appeal
Simon de Pury – The Swiss art auctioneer and co-founder of Phillips de Pury thrills bidders with his Jagger swagger
Gerd Bulthaup – Head honcho at the German kitchen manufacturer, Bulthaup is a big cheese to cutting edge cooks the world over
Jean-Paul Goude – The photographer/art-director/illustrator who made an icon of Grace Jones and a man of Laetitia Casta
We are thrilled that Carnovsky were chosen for this prestigious award and as part of the awards party, which was held at 10 Trinity Square last night, we installed a section from the exhibition. All the winners will be featured in their February edition of the magazine, so go out and get yourself a copy to see all that is good and great in the world of Design.
