17th 20th Dec 2012: Parasite Ceramics & Bags of Joy will be taking residency at our Christmas pop-up Emporium.
Founded in 2010, Parasite Ceramics is a versatile creative agency with experience in the fields of ceramics, graphics, product design, and community engagement. They create site-specific ceramic artworks and unique limited edition products that look to celebrate diverse communities, the cultural sector and one-off events.
Telling stories in new and imaginative ways, capturing the history and value of communities. Their aim is to offer ceramics in a unique and tangible way that draws people in to connect once more with their surroundings. They will be showcasing limited Edition fine bone china tableware pieces at our Christmas Pop-up.
Collaborating alongside Parasite Ceramics for the duration of their stay here with us at Kings From the East will be Hackney based design collective Bags of Joy.
Bags of Joy work on a basis of playful intelligence and craft in the development of their work, their aim is to have an impact on people via their art, wether that be making complex information accessible, telling stories or simply making people smile. During the Kings From the East emporium Bags of Joy will be offering their own special brand of tote bag to sit perfectly with the Parasite Ceramics and JaguarShoes Collective homewears.
Alongside Parasite ceramics our usual collections will also be available; JaguarShoes Collective crockery, prints and clothing, Electronic Sheep knitwear, Noemi Klein jewellery, Black eyewear, Veja wallets, Lucy Peacock silk scarves, the recently released Wonderwalls book by Supermarket Sarah, a selection of specially commissioned Christmas cards and much more.
Spiced cider/ mulled wine and cinnamon topped Allpress cappucino’s will be available from the cafe, along with its usual selection of teas, coffee, freshly made sandwiches, snacks and pastries.
To coincide with late night shopping The Campari Bar will be at The Old Shoreditch Station every Thursday and Friday night from 6pm to 9pm throughout the Kings From The East Christmas Emporium period.
