We are very pleased to announce that prolific Illustrators Will Sweeney and Matt Furie will be teaming up for the first time ever for a double exhibition at both our Kingsland Road venues.
The Doorz is a trans - dimensional journey via traditional drawing methods (caran d'ache pencil crayon, ink wash), modern communication methods (skype, yousendit.com) and deluxe digital printing. London based artist Will Sweeney and San Francisco's Matt Furie are collaborating on a series of images of portals, doorways and entrances to new worlds. Evoking the imagery of surreal childrens books, lost animations and hyper real alien landscapes. The Doorz is a unique game of visual Chinese whispers by this influential pair and takes the form of fine art prints at the Old Shoreditch Station and large scale installation at DreamBagsJaguarShoes.

UNTIL THE LIGHT TAKES US tells the story of black metal. Part music scene and part cultural uprising, black metal rose to worldwide notoriety in the mid-nineties when a rash of suicides, murders, and church burnings accompanied the explosive artistic growth and output of a music scene that would forever redefine what heavy metal is and what it stands for to other musicians, artists and music fans world-wide.
To capture this on film, directors Aaron Aites and Audrey Ewell moved to Norway and lived with the musicians for several years, building relationships that allowed them to create a surprisingly intimate portrait of this violent, but ultimately misunderstood, movement.
An expertly made, gripping, disturbing and fascinating film - EMPIRE

The work of fine artist and sculptor Rachael Haines, is a direct response to her surrounds and allows her to seek out answers and forge bridges to the unknown. Although she works in many different materials, a similar story is often told within the narration of what she creates; whether it be using the shiny surface of boiled sweets to represent glass or allowing mirrors to reflect and confuse a normally calm exterior.

Since graduating from the Glasgow School Of Art in 2003, Paul has worked for practically every free magazine, zine, downloadable pdf magazine and blog there is going.
The exhibition at the old Shoreditch station is a new body of work that he embarked upon in 2008 after moving to London. The inspiration for this show and the title "Mad As Hell" have been taken from the powerful speech made my Peter Finch's character in Howard Beale 'Network'. A film which is still frighteningly relevant today.

For his first solo show in London at the Old Shoreditch Station Martin Wollerstam presents a collection of drawings which, rendered as simple and stylistically infantile doodlings, appear superficially to be playful and amusing. However, a far cry from the technicolour musings and the homogeneous, race-less caricatures that now pour from Walt's studio, Martin's alternate, primarily monochrome Neverland, stimulates ominous, often desolate nuances which serve to gather the clouds of an anxiety laden zeitgeist.

Since the early seventies 'the Undercroft' (the sheltered area beneath the Queen Elizabeth Hall on London's Southbank) has served as the home of the skateboarding community in the UK. It's an open public-space that has brought together thousands of young people, from various backgrounds, over the last 35 years to form a harmonious and positive community. This type of positive and 'unorganised' activity for young people is very rarely seen elsewhere in the UK today....However the area is now being rapidly redeveloped and the future of 'the Undercroft' is uncertain. Already a large part has been partitioned off behind large wooden hoardings. Please join us in petitioning the government to guarantee that the site is: (A) returned to its previous state (allowing the general public and skateboarders open access to the full area), and (B) officially protected and preserved for future generations of the skateboard community to use.

With media ranging from animation, billboard subversion, canvas and mural painting, his work is strictly non-conformist. Fusing Disneyesque/Dr Suessian impressions with 20th C Eastern Block propaganda, Dans exposes the irregular and discontinuous reality of the world round him. Leave any pre-conceptions about street art at the door and be prepared to enter an entirely new realm.
PMH is not only one of our favourite artists, fanziners and party masters ever, but he is also the oracle for what's HOT! Which is why when we found out his blog was up and running we knew it would be pumping out pure gold and believe us when we say it is.

The Spookernox installation brings a 'vista of postcards' from their noir, artdeco-esque comic book otherworld. The show constitutes beautiful found objects, fine art paintings and 3D panoramas.
The 'no-one' sale is now on... check on-line or in store for London's best independent fashion. Up to 50% off PPQ, Karen Walker, YMC, Mine, Lyle and Scott.
Combustible spasms of visual delight and ecstasy fill Goldtooth's mouth. These morsels are vomited on wall with the fervour of a 16 teen queens preparing for their first modelling opportunity. Design duo, Goldtooth, have just expanded their ranks adding a further two associates. Their impenetrable line up now constitutes; MONSTER Myk MANTIS, KIKOFISH (the elusive but always visually stunning), Med Daimon (NY Supa Fudge Chunks- front man) and the newest kid on the block, James Alley (yet to be given a silly name). So together as Goldtooth they step to the fray with their 3rd and most eye bleeding show to date. WE ARE LOUDER THAN YOU ARE FAMOUS.
Watch our New Years greeting...
A recent graduate from The Royal college of Art, Rowena True is one of our new favourite artists. Her incredible stop-motion work takes on many different forms and often features the artist herself as the subject. Her new short, in collaboration with fellow animator Geoff Howell, for our very own boutique No-one is no exception and shows off their incredible talents in both stop-motion and CG.
Young British Artist Stuart Semple has designed Rebels and Devils, a limited edition clothing project making its debut in January 2007. Encased in a heavy wooden crate and opened with the aid of a crowbar, these exquisite hooded garments feature Semple's beloved heroes and icons.

Having build a worldwide respect with their magnificent cut up and then reconstituted billboard images. 'Cut Up' return to 'Seventeen' for thier second exhibition.
The exterior of the gallery will be covered up with boards perforated by drilling. These create imagery through the dispersion of light from within.
CutUp's practice incorporates collage, film and installation and focuses largely on the creative potential of the street as a site for interventionist art and disruption.
When Klaus Thymann was fifteen he got busted for doing graffiti in Copenhagen and decided to find a different output for his creativity. He picked up a camera and started to create his trademark style. A selection of his work is currently showing at 'Old Shoreditch Station' until mid January.

Graham Dolphin's latest exhibit at Seventeen is a deeper excursion into this artists frighteningly meticulous output. Reflecting the OCD's and anally retentive attributes nurtured by some collectors of mass-produced multiples, Graham's works are mind-blowing and demonstrate unnatural levels of endurance and skill.
Working directly onto ready-made objects, such as vinyl records, album sleeves, and other music industry ephemera, Graham arduously scratches immaculate passages of minute (and I mean miniscule)text into their surfaces. His exhibit is a must see.

New Zealand designer Karen Walker introduced her 'boys clothes for girls' at New York fashion week.
One of our favourite designers at no-one, her forthcoming collection for Spring Summer 2007 is inspired by wartime British land girls; mixing pretty floral shirts and dresses, over-sized 'mens' suiting and waistcoats. These come together in the typically cool Karen Walker style, layered and mixed with a few bright, wearable, modern classics. See her winning pieces at no-one from February next year. Her current collection is available now.

Jaguar, the largest and most powerful feline in the Western Hemisphere and a protected species.
It's not often I get that feeling of pride in my stomach that comes when people surpass your expectations.. when the realisation dawns that one of your peers has done something truly synchronistic. The last time I felt it was watching the Beasties Madison Square Gardens performance. Today that 'boy done good' sensation comes on looking at photos of Banksy's LA show. In ten years the 'boy' hasn't just done good, he has stencilled himself into the history books and made a contribution that, when our tiny epoch is past, will remain for a long time... providing future folk with a genuine feel for this moment. Big thanks for that...Nick Jaguar

The secrecy surrounding the forthcoming Star Wars television series is pretty much airtight, meanwhile Lucasfilm are getting some more mileage out of the original trilogy.
