Carnovsky for The Big Egg Hunt

We are pleased to announce that for ‘The Big Egg Hunt 2012’, Carnovsky have created an awe inspiring installation on the trail.

From Shrove Tuesday to Easter Sunday, London will become home to 200 giant and uniquely crafted Easter eggs - ‘The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt’.

The first event of its kind, ‘The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt’ seeks to raise up to £2 million for leading children’s charity, Action for Children, and Elephant Family – the UK’s biggest funder for the endangered Asian elephant by inviting tourists, locals and visitors to join in a truly magical experience.

Members of the public will be able to hunt down the strategically placed giant eggs which have been exclusively designed, bejewelled and decorated by some of the world’s leading artists, architects, jewellers and designers including Mulberry, Sir Ridley Scott, Zandra Rhodes, Diane Von Furstenberg, Marc Quinn, Bruce Oldfield, The Chapman Brothers, Theo Fennell, William Curley, Bompas and Parr, our good friend Polly Morgan and JaguarShoes Collective members, Carnovsky.

The event is set to smash Guinness World Records for the most participants in an Easter egg hunt and for giving rise to the world’s most expensive chocolate egg, designed by William Curley. The two ‘Fabergé Big Egg Hunt’ Guinness World Record breaking attempts are part of World Record London, which will see the most exciting capital in the world attempt over 20 Guinness World Records to make London a multi record-breaking city.

For this prolific event Carnovsky have created a magnificent egg titled –  RGB+S

Artist Statement ;

Primary colors + Lights + Reflections = METAMORPHOSIS

A chromium egg in a white room, suspended over a kaleidoscopic RGB image.

In almost all the antique cosmogonies, the moment of the creation is always imagined as the eminence of an order from a primigenial chaos, it is presented like this in the Bible and also by the Greeks, the Romans or the Aztecs. What at the beginning was amorphous and vague becomes separated and organised. The universe tends to entropy; life is an attempt to get out of the chaos by organising itself in some order.

As in Ovid, world’s history is the story of all its unceasing transformations, where each form continually transforms itself into another. On one hand its previous form dies, but on the other revives itself.

From the primordial and multicolour chaos a perfect form comes to life: the egg.  An egg, that at the same time contains in potential all the universe’s possible forms, in a continuous circle with no end and no time.

Carnovsky are Francesco Rugi and Silvia Quintanilla from Milan, Italy. Together they create beautiful artworks that mutate and interact with different chromatic stimulus. RGB works consists of three images printed in a single primary colour overlaid to form a multi-layered print. Placing a red, green or blue light onto the work conceals all but one of the images, while white light reveals the beauty of the montage in its entirety.

Produce beautiful and unique products, exhibitions, events, and publications. The arts organisation was born out of much celebrated Shoreditch bar and exhibition space: ‘DreamBagsJaguarShoes’ in London in 2002.
