For the first exhibition we have invited creative powerhouse, blinkart, to curate a show from their roster of artists and directors including Alex Turvey, Joe Mann, Treat Studios. David Wilson, Carl Burgess, Elliot Dear, Zeitguised and Lernert and Sander.

As well as the collection of shorts being screened on the brand new plasmas, blinkart have produced a limited edition booklet with the lovely people at Ditto Press which will be available in-store at No-one.

To mark the launch of this new endeavour, we will be hosting a series of tasting workshops with Ketel One vodka throughout the duration of the exhibition that celebrate all things handcrafted. Ketel One vodka is handcrafted from 100% wheat spirit and spirit from small copper pot stills at the Nolet distillery in Schiedam, Holland. A member of the Nolet family still approves each batch of Ketel One vodka before it is bottled. Ketel One is inspired by 300 years of distilling tradition.

About the Artists

Alex Turvey

Alex Turvey is one of the most magical directors and designers around, inspired by Cornish folklore and Twin Peaks. His lucid imagination and early exposure to the theatrical, macabre and often sexual performances witnessed at parades as a child in his small seaside town have had lasting effect. Already hailed as one of the fifteen “Creatives who will Define the Future of British Arts” by The Independent and proclaimed as one of “Fashion’s New Generation” by Vogue, as well as being celebrated by Levis, Dazed and Confused and Shots Magazine, Alex has also sat as a jury member for the prestigious D&AD Awards. Not bad for a twenty seven year old.

Joe Mann

Joseph Mann’s love for meticulous model making and attention to detail is evident in his work. Having graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2009, Joe has created exciting projects for the likes of Skream, worked on acclaimed feature film “Africa United,” and most recently has just completed an eight-month project for TIE (The International Exchange).

Treat Studios

Treat Studios are a close-knit collective of friends whose work branches across a range of platforms including illustration, animation, sculpture, t-shirt printing, publishing, and live visuals. Treat Studios produced all the stage visuals for last years Bat for Lashes tour and had a six-week residency at Etsy Studios in Berlin. This year they have made celebrated music videos for bands such as Mazes and Crystal Antlers.

David Wilson

David Wilson’s painstaking attention to detail and inventive craft skills have seen him rewarded as he nabbed Best New Director at the MVAs in 2009, and was featured in Boards’ Directors to Watch and Dazed & Confused magazine the same year. His playful, eclectic, and innovative work can be seen in his stunning debut for folk artist Moray McLaren’s “We Got Time,” as well as in videos for We Got Band, Little Boots and Metronomy.

Carl Burgess

Carl Burgess is a London based filmmaker and designer, known for his humorous and hypnotising video work. His dark, simple aesthetic lends itself to creating new worlds out of the mundane, turning objects and perceptions on their head to make way for visually rich, slightly twisted work.
Carl has created videos for clients as diverse as Slayer, Jon Hopkins, Nike and Nowness, and among his most recent successes was his hilariously subversive video for Ratatat’s song ‘Drugs’, nominated for Best Special Effects at the 2010 MVAs.

Elliot Dear

Elliot Dear is a hugely talented young animator, video director, and illustrator whose hands on approach to filmmaking results in very unique, and contemporary work. His latest smash hit, for Bubble by Jon Hopkins and King Creosote saw him building miniature sets and shooting, alone, for five days in a basement.

Exploring the wilderness of CG creativity, directing duo Zeitguised’s extraordinary digital pieces obey impossible physical laws. Their work is unique and compelling, cryptic, full of juxtaposed textures and colours. They have been commissioned by the likes of MTV, Becks, Wired, Contagious and Vodafone.

Lernert and Sander

Lernert Engleberts and Sander Plug are two highly talented Dutch artists based in Amsterdam. They create high-concept art films and installations, with simple but stunning art direction, all driven by their subtly dry, cheeky sense of humour.

Their film “Natural Beauty”, commissioned by Nowness, has become an international phenomenon, receiving over a million hits on YouTube and being blogged by luminaries as unexpected as Perez Hilton and Oprah Winfrey.

Lernert & Sander push simplicity to its most aesthetically powerful limits and have been nominated for a number of prizes at this years Dutch Design Awards with a major London exhibition planned for later this year. They are also regular contributors to the delightful Butt Magazine.
